QMUNITY is BC’s leading queer resource centre. Located on Bute Street in Vancouver’s West End we are a hub for the lesbian, gay, trans, bi and queer community.

Trans Alliance Society (Vancouver)
Transgender support, education, outreach and advocacy. The Pride Education Network

Rainbow Refugee Committee (RRC)
Founded in 2000, Rainbow Refugee Committee (RRC) is a Vancouver based community group that supports and advocates with people seeking refugee protection because of persecution based on sexual orientation, gender identity, or HIV status. Rainbow Refugee Committee engages in outreach, advocacy and public education on QLGBT/HIV+ refugee issues. RRC is member driven and all volunteer.

Truth Wins Out is a non-profit organization that fights anti-gay religious extremism.

TWO specializes in turning information into action by organizing, advocating and fighting for LGBT equality. TWO’s goal is to create a world where LGBT individuals can live openly, honestly and true to themselves.

Vancouver chapter of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence
We exist as an order of 21st century queer nuns who welcome a broad spectrum of genders, sexual orientations and religious/spiritual traditions. Through humour, irreverent wit and glamorous manifestation, we seek to transform social structures that continue to oppress the vulnerable in our society. Queer Film Festival
For 11 days each August, the Vancouver Queer Film Festival brings the very best in queer independent cinema from around the world to Vancouver. As the city’s second largest film festival, we privilege creative innovation and audience experience.

Out in Schools
Homophobia and bullying are serious issues facing today’s youth, particularly queer youth. By bringing queer films to local high schools to facilitate discussion with youth on bullying, homophobia and stereotypes, we give youth a safe space to explore these issues. We aim to increase understanding through education to combat the issues threatening the safety of our classrooms for all students.

The Transgender Health Program
“The Transgender Health Program was launched by Vancouver Coastal Health in June 2003 to bring together transgender people and loved ones, health care providers, health planners, and researchers to work on improving transgender health services in BC. We welcome anyone who has a transgender health question or concern. Our services are free, anonymous, and confidential.”

Women’s Health Collective
“Provides women-centred health information to support women with their search for appropriate, quality health care. We also raise awareness and inspire action for the feminist advancement of women’s health. Free nurse practitioner, free drop-in yoga, and pharmacy on site.”

Positive Living BC
Positive Living Society of British Columbia is dedicated to empowering persons living with HIV/AIDS through mutual support and collective action.

Health Initiative for Men

Vancouver Friends For Life Society

Dr. Peter Centre

A Loving Spoonful
A Loving Spoonful is a volunteer-driven, non-partisan Society that provides free, nutritious meals to people living with HIV/AIDS in Greater Vancouver.

Vancouver AIDS Memorial
After 17 years, the Vancouver AIDS Memorial Society is closing permanently. A lack of funding and volunteers left them unable to operate. The 2010 AIDS Memorial and Candlelight Vigil was the last to be hosted by the Society. This link to Positive Living BC site, provides a map to the Memorial.

Community Based Research Centre

B.C. Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS

Technically Queer
TQ (Technically Queer) is (was) a BCIT SA sanctioned club geared towards providing a safe space for LGBT individuals and their allies. TQ’s number one goal is to ensure that the voice of all LGBT indivuals are not only heard, but acted upon when necessary. With the September school year starting, TQ will be at the forefront of certain events such as “Coming Out” day in October. Additionally, we will be hosting social events, which will always be announced on this website.

The English Bay Swim Club
The English Bay Swim Club is Vancouver’s gay & lesbian Masters swim team. We are all-inclusive, welcoming gay and gay-friendly swimmers into the pool since 1982. English Bay also has a triathalon club and a water polo club.

The Vancouver Tennis Association
The Vancouver Tennis Association (VTA) is a non-profit tennis organization which fosters and promotes goodwill, fellowship, and healthy competition among tennis players in the gay and lesbian community.

Out for Kicks
Out for Kicks (OFK) is a Vancouver-based soccer club with more than 175 members. Their mandate is to facilitate a safe, fun and recreational environment for GLBT players and their gay-friendly team mates to enjoy the game of soccer.

The West-End Slo-Pitch Association
The West-End Slo-Pitch Association was started in 1978 when gay and lesbian sports minded, fun-loving people gathered on Sunday afternoons at Lord Roberts School playground. WESA organizes not only softball games but many social events for the membership and gay community.

This is a mixed gay league promoting fun and fellowship.

Pacific Rim Curling League
The Pacific Rim Curling League is an all-inclusive league open to gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans-gender and GLBT-friendly straight, curlers of all skill levels. The 2008-2009 season was the 25th year that the League has operated.

Outdoor Women
“We are a primarily lesbian organization based in Vancouver, BC but we welcome all women, 19 and older. We value diversity and we encourage interested women of all races, colours, physical abilities and economic means to join. Our members are involved in many activities including hiking, snowshoeing, kayaking, cycling and skiing. We also have social nights approximately once a month at a local pub or restaurant.”

Out and about Vancouver
We are a group of about 150 gay men in the Greater Vancouver area who enjoy the great outdoors. Our outdoor activities include hiking, walking, cycling, kayaking, camping and more—whatever is of interest to our members. Most of our events are local, but sometimes we travel around a bit. We get together for social gatherings throughout the year—anything from a barbecue to a night at the opera. All of our events are organized by club members.

The Surrey Pride Society provides Socials, Youth Scholarships and Pride events to accommodate a growing community, while still supporting the Imperial Court of Surrey (E.P.A.M.A.) and the Surrey Youth Alliance (S.Y.A.). in 2011 they introduced a monthly social event called CHiLL.

A drop in center and support group GLBTQ youth ages 14 – 21 years old that meets every Wednesday from 6:00PM to 9:00 PM at the Newton Youth Resource Centre.

South Fraser Women’s Services
