Mycelium Cafe RSVP Sept. 20th, 2026

We’re baaaaaaack…..
The Mycelium Cafe this month is on
Sept. 20th, 2026, 12-2pm
Doors and Soup at: 11:45am
Trying to start the program promptly at 12 noon so feel free to show up a little early.

Oaklands Community Centre

2728 Belmont Ave.

Victoria, Lək̓ʷəŋən Traditional Territories
Free to attend but please RSVP (scroll down to fill out and submit the form)
Donations are accepted should you feel inclined.

We acknowledge and respect the Lək̓ʷəŋən peoples on whose traditional territory these events and onmyplanet.ca is based. In particular, we recognize the Songhees, Kosapsum and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples and their continuing relationship with the land, water and mycelium.

Brought to you by onmyplanet.ca, and inspired by the Allies in Action Community Discussion events, and a network based concept of inclusion, The Mycelium Cafe is an all ages drop-in for 2SLGBTQIA+ older adults. Every third Sunday of the month from 12 noon- 2pm.

We will gather, have some soup, watch a few queer and trans stories, talk about some stuff, and maybe someday we'll organize ourselves into something that looks more like activism.

Today’s Soup is Squash - taking advantage of the fall harvest, it will be vegetarian and gluten free and there will be a bit of lactose free cream on the side for those that would like a creamier experience.
Today’s Video: This Cafe will be facilitated by Marshall Kilduff, Executive Director of the Gender Generations Project (GGP)(full bio below). Through storytelling and group discussion, Marshall will lead us in exploring the magic and chaos of intergenerational, trans-affirming spaces. Together we will investigate the challenges and how we might meet each other with curiosity and grace across the mycelial network.

In support of those that are allergic and sensitive to fragrance, this is a scent-free event.
Please do not wear perfume or other scented products, thank you.

Although the events focus on older adults and seniors, people of all ages are welcome to participate.
Get involved! If you'd like to volunteer email Lulu at lulu@onmyplanet.ca

If you need to cancel please email lulu@onmyplanet.ca and let us know.

If you are RSVPing late please still fill out the form  (This helps us with the demographic info for the grant reporting etc.)

For specific questions or to arrange to register by phone, email Lulu using the contact form at onmyplanet.ca

Facilitator: Marshall Kilduff (he/him) is a white settler of Irish and English heritage, born and raised on the beautiful lands of the Lekwungen Peoples. He is a middle-aged, disabled, queer, trans man, who has been active in building intentional, heart-centered, intergenerational spaces within the 2SLGBTQ+ community for over 15 years. He is currently a Masters Student in the Social Dimensions of Health program at UVic and the Executive Director of Gender Generations Project, an organization that brings together trans and gender diverse kids and youth with trans+ adults and older adults through intergenerational mentorship and arts-based programming.

PPS: We have split some of the questions up to make it simpler on the back end to sort this information - if you've done this before the form may seem longer but the number of questions and responses is actually the same. Thanks for your participation. xo Lulu
