Mycelium Cafe RSVP

Hello my Fabulous Fruiting Mushrooms,
I expect most of you were very busy with all the “back at it” fall activities in Sept.
Lovely to see those of you that came out to our Mycelium Cafe last month on Sept. the 19th.

Hoping you’ll have cleared your decks and can make it out for a bowl of soup and some video on:
October 18th.
Doors and Soup at: 11:45am (trying to start the program promptly at 12 noon so come a bit early to get some soup beforehand)

The Mycelium Cafe is an all ages drop-in for 2SLGBTQIA+ older adults. 
Every third Sunday of the month, from 12 noon- 2pm. 

We will gather, have some soup, watch a few queer and trans stories, talk about some stuff, and maybe someday we'll organize ourselves into something that looks more like activism.

Today’s Soup is Turkey with optional Barley - It’s a bit past the Fall festive and holi - daze and but I still love the turkey soup - so… Will do our best to make it Gluten Free (other than the barley which will be on the side).
Today’s Video: This time we will be honouring the great and wondrous barbara findlay. barbara sadly passed last month and it is only fitting that we honour her memory. As a human rights lawyer and activist, she changed the course of legal existence for queer and trans people in Canada and her influence has rippled far out into the world. We will either be screening a documentary called In Particular, barbara findlay, (54mins) produced by Out Spoken Biographies, Written and Directed by Becca Plucer and edited by Aerlyn Weissman. It aired on OUT TV on Jul 9, 2015. OR: onmyplanet.ca will string together some of the interview footage that we have from the Generational Allies Project.

In support of those that are allergic and sensitive to fragrance, this is a scent-free event.

Please do not wear perfume or other scented products, thank you.  

Although the events focus on older adults and seniors, the Mycelium Cafe is an inter-generational event and people of all ages are welcome to participate.

PS: After the October Mycelium Cafe we will be sending out a feedback survey for the last three Cafes- please make sure you are on the email list ifyou would like to do the survey - which of course is a great help to us with our funders.
