Mycelium Cafe RSVP July 19th, 2026 Mycelium Cafe RSVP July 19th, 2026 Inspired by the Allies in Action Community Discussion events, and a network based concept of inclusion, onmyplanet.ca brings you: The Mycelium Cafe. Scroll down to fill in the RSVP form. An all ages drop-in for 2SLGBTQIA+ older adults. Every third Sunday from 12 noon- 2pm Doors and Soup at: 11:45am (trying to start the program promptly at 12 noon so feel free to show up a little early) Oaklands Community Centre 2728 Belmont Ave. Victoria, Lək̓ʷəŋən Traditional Territories We acknowledge and respect the Lək̓ʷəŋən peoples on whose traditional territory these events and onmyplanet.ca is based. In particular we recognize the Songhees, Kosapsum and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples and their continuing relationship with the land, water and mycelium. We will gather, have some soup, watch a few queer and trans stories, talk about some stuff, and maybe someday we'll organize ourselves into something that looks more like activism. *This date is overlapping with the Salt Spring Island Pride festivities. We toyed with the idea of holding the cafe on SSI, but unfortunately that wasn't possible. Here's hoping that those of you that are in town will join us for our queer and gender queer afternoon. The Soup Today is: Something green since it's mid-summer and there are all kinds of green things in the garden like Zuchini?? Will update as it becomes more clear. : ) It will be gluten-free and likely lactose-free. We will also be celebrating a big birthday - with a gluten-free cake!! The Video for Today: We will be watching one of the Generational Allies Workshop segments about Allyship. The group discussion will follow this theme. The Mycelium Cafe is free to attend. The usual discussion format - themed around Allyship Let's do a Heart Circle - A Heart Circle is originally an Indigenous practice where people sit in a circle and one at a time they talk about what comes up for them. We can use a talking stick or some other object to pass around to indicate who the speaker is. No cross talk, no interaction, the rest of the people in circle just witness what the speaker wants to share. Submit If you are human, leave this field blank. Δ
